Parking FAQ’s
How do I contact the Parking Office?
Contact the parking office at (704) 683-0100.
How does my parking access card work?
The Gateway Village parking uses a “hands-free” access control system to create a fast, friendly and safe operation. Monthly parkers are issued an access card that is mounted with Velcro inside the vehicle, in the uppermost corner of the driver-side front windshield, no more than two inches from the top of the glass. These access cards can be transferred between vehicles for monthly parkers who carpool or use more than one vehicle. Facility card readers “scan” travel lanes for these vehicle-mounted access cards. Valid cards will raise gates to let monthly parkers enter and exit.
Where are vehicle entrances and exits?
The Gateway Village parking deck offers monthly parkers six entrance lanes and five exit lanes utilizing both West Trade and West Fifth Streets. Visitors are able to use any of the same six entrance lanes but must exit through one of our two cashier lanes. Please follow overhead and lighted signs to all appropriate entrances and exits.
Where can I park?
Monthly parkers are able to park in any non-reserved, legal space on any of the facility’s eight levels. Please remember that there are several types of reserved spaces or areas on each level that are enforced at all times. Each of these restricted spaces is signed as such and should be avoided.
What if I don’t have my access card?
Monthly parkers who forget their access cards can still use any entrance but must stop and pull a ticket from the ticket machine. Upon exiting, present the ticket with your signature to the cashier to avoid paying the hourly rate. Lost, stolen or damaged access cards can be replaced for $25.00 at the parking office, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.
What if my access card stops working?
Intact access cards that stop working will be replaced at no charge at the parking office, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. If your access card will not work while you are trying to exit the facility, please use the intercom for further assistance.
Do you provide security escorts?
Security escorts are available upon request, from and to Gateway Village buildings and the parking deck. You can summon an escort by calling (704) 683-0000, using the intercom at any of the parking deck entrances or from any of the call boxes in the parking deck.
